Custody Modifications and Enforcement

Life changes after a divorce or custody order is signed. A parent relocates, a child’s needs change, or one parent stops following the order. The Hale Firm, P.C. helps parents in Harris County and the surrounding counties change orders that no longer work and enforce orders that are being ignored.

Modifications. Texas courts can modify conservatorship, possession and access, and child support when circumstances have materially and substantially changed and the change is in the child’s best interest. We help you evaluate whether your situation meets that standard, gather the evidence that supports it, and pursue a resolution through negotiation, mediation, or, when necessary, a hearing or trial.

Enforcement. When the other parent denies court-ordered time with your children or fails to pay child support or other obligations under an order, a motion for enforcement asks the court to compel compliance, award unpaid amounts, and impose consequences for violations. We document every violation carefully so the court has what it needs to act.
